Everest Insurance, a member of Everest Re Group, Ltd., is seeking a Claims Data Research Analyst to join our team in Warren, New Jersey. This individual will be responsible for preparing and analyzing claims data and researching data issues.
To be successful in this position the applicant must be able to:
- Develop control structures within a simple environment to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through all upstream and downstream data channels.
- Provide thought leadership and participate with projects that involve any of the upstream or downstream data flows and processes.
- Ensure controls are in place over applications to ensure the data integrity by performing data integrity gap analysis.
- Coordinate the resolution of data integrity gaps by working with the business owners and IT.
- Work with business partners to gather and understand functional requirements, develop complex queries and provide reports.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare monthly/quarterly claim analytics reports for management.
- Help analyze key performance indicators for the claims organization.
- Work with large data for ad hoc reporting and trend analysis.
- Assist with forecasting and claims strategy.
- Help with fraud, subrogation, medical management and legal analytics.
- Manage various claim related databases.
- Research data irregularities.
- Present all data in a clear and concise format.
Work Experience And Qualifications:
- Prior experience as an analyst and/or knowledge of data mining is preferred.
- Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL), MS Excel, and PowerBI is required.
- Insurance or reinsurance industry experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Highly-effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of databases and data structures.
- Strong analytical and time management skills.
- Intermediate facilitation skills with the ability to drive issues to closure.
- Self-motivated and able to handle tasks with minimal supervision or questions.
- Ability to deliver a high level of customer service.
- Ability to write various documents such as functional requirements.
- Ability to compare technologies and make recommendations to senior members of the team.
- Understanding of privacy laws and regulations.
- Intermediate level proficiency with VBA.
- Ability to collaborate with co-workers, management, internal and external customers/clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
