Shoes For Crews, LLC (SFC) is a dynamic designer, manufacturer, and business-to-business marketer of the most technologically advanced, top-rated slip-resistant footwear for the foodservice, hospitality, industrial, and healthcare workplaces. SFC protects over 3.5 million workers per year in over 120,000 workplaces from slip and fall accidents.
Position Summary: Overall, support the Mission, Vision, and Culture of Shoes For Crews. This position will be responsible for recording and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This includes tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including daily account reconciliations, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and the support of budget and forecast activities. Other responsibilities include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
Essential Job Functions:
- Daily cash balance analysis & reporting
- Daily bank account reconciliations, both domestic and international
- Customer warranty reconciliations
- General accounting including GL analysis, GL support, and Journal Entry preparation.
- Prepare year-end audit packages and interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits along with senior accounting management
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, with department co-workers and internal customers
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and field partners
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Assist in the timely preparation of all financial reporting requirements of the company.
- Assist in monthly reconciliation of balance sheet and analysis of P&L accounts providing explanations for variances against budgets and prior year.
- Apply a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close. This includes interaction with foreign entities for global consolidation.
- Interface inter-departmentally across the company to verify transaction data and resolve issues.
- Respond to inquiries from senior management regarding financial results, including ad hoc reporting and analysis.
- Assist with various projects within the Finance and Accounting department, e.g., chart of accounts conversions, G/L implementation, warehouse transfers, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
- 1-2 years experience in corporate accounting with company revenue of > $100M
- Ability to work within a high velocity, autonomous and demanding culture
- Solid oral and written communication, technology, and analytical skills
- Understanding and proficiency with account reconciliations, month-end close, maintaining the GL, and budgets
