Position Summary
The Corporate Accountant will primarily be responsible for the corporate and financing activities of the Company, including general & administrative expenses, bank reconciliations and assisting in the facilitation of the annual G&A budgeting process. This position will report to the Corporate Accounting Supervisor and is in downtown Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Job Functions
- Review and record all payroll and benefits activities
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Perform monthly fixed assets depreciation calculation
- Prepare various other period end journal entries, account analysis and account reconciliations
- Review variance analysis explaining significant fluctuations in financial statement accounts
- Prepare Accounting G&A budget versus actual reports
- Assist in the annual G&A budgeting process, including monitoring deadlines, assisting management with actuals versus budget questions and compiling reports to review with Finance and various other departments
- Assist in process automation efforts
- Ensure data is accurately maintained in the accounting and reporting systems, including chart of accounts maintenance
- Maintain current understanding of GAAP and SEC guidelines;
- Maintain SOX controls
- Assist in audits, both internal and external
- Participate in special projects, as necessary

- Minimum 2 years accounting experience
- Experience with drafting and posting journal entries
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively within all areas of the Company
- Excel proficient
- Proactive and deadline driven
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

- Experience with Enertia and consolidation software (i.e., Essbase, Planful, OneStream, etc.)
- Exposure to financial reporting, SEC filings and the external audit process
