POSITION PURPOSE
Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all members and staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Create a safe and welcoming environment for members and team members of GPY.
- Monitors an assigned area; reports suspicious activities to branch leadership and maintains a log of this activity.
- Deescalates inappropriate or threatening situations.
- Monitors surveillance cameras throughout the facility.
- Conducts building walkthroughs with attention to detail to ensure a safe environment inside and outside of the Branch.
- Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.
- At the end of operating hours, checks to ensure the property is secure, updates activity log, and ensures that key information is passed along to branch leadership.
- Addresses reports of suspicious activity on the property.
- Prepare for threats and emergencies with a plan of action.
- Escorts unwelcome parties off the premises.
- Works collaboratively with GPY staff and members to support a positive member experience.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
SHIFT AVAILABILITY:
- Weekends: Morning and evening shifts
ROLE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience a plus, but not required.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.
- Ability to monitor the property and access areas quickly.
- Ability to deescalate inappropriate or threatening situations.
- Prolonged periods sitting or standing.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
