Summary:
The Financial Analyst works closely with Senior Management and the operations team in maintaining financial planning and analysis for Goldbelt Nisga’a TEK, LLC. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports/analysis and serve as a liaison to assist leadership with all their financial needs. This role will lead the implementation of new reporting technologies and processes, providing regular support to other finance-related functions.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to senior management.
- Produce monthly reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting.
- Maintain knowledge and keep abreast of new regulations or policies.
- Develop models that help with decision-making and ad hoc financial analysis projects and report preparation as needed.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies in all financial reporting activities.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and disclosures for quarterly and annual reporting cycles.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the finance function, streamlining workflows and enhancing efficiency.
- Act as subject matter expert for new reporting packages.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
- Good communication skills for communicating within the organization and with external parties.
- Ability to compile and understand large amounts of data and use that data to create well-polished presentation materials.
- Expert level experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance OR equivalent years of experience.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Financial Analyst or similar role, with a strong understanding of financial principles and concepts.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Business Administration degree (MBA).
- Experience operating in a government contracting environment is strongly preferred.
- Experience using VENA Solutions software is strongly preferred.
- SQL experience is a plus.
