American Farm Bureau Insurance Services, Inc. (AFBIS, Inc.) is looking for a Crop Insurance Claims Auditor to work out of our Raleigh office (hybrid). We will also consider experienced remote talent for this position. As a member of our Policy Administration team, you will be responsible for reviewing, auditing and processing MPCI and/or Crop Hail claims to ensure the timely payment of claims.
If you have an agricultural background, farming knowledge/experience or crop insurance experience, this might be a great position for you. Reporting to the Crop Insurance Administrator, the Crop insurance Claims Auditor will be responsible for:
- Servicing Crop Insurance Policies and for the daily processing of all claims
- Reviewing and entering claims and quality control information as needed
- Making appropriate claims determinations by reviewing production records, claim records, quality control records, farming practices, and entities
- Assisting agents, adjusters, field staff and insureds with policy questions
- Corresponding with agents, adjusters, field staff or other companies for supporting documentation when necessary
- Setting up, monitoring, and completing claims reviews
- Assisting with the creation and processing of new per diem adjuster contracts and maintaining adjuster database.
What you will bring to this position:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience within agriculture or farming
- Knowledge of agricultural commodities and good farming practices
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policy information
- Knowledge/understanding of MPCI and Crop Hail lines of insurance is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to calculate percentages, perform other mathematical computations, and input data
The expected starting salary range for this position is between $40,000 and $60,000. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
