The Opportunity: We are seeking a Jr. Portfolio Manager to join our team in the Tampa, FL area. This role will provide servicing and financial statement tracking of existing commercial loan relationships. Work with Business Bankers on the evaluation and preparation of new requests and renewals prior to submission to credit.
What You’ll Do:
- Drive the renewal/review process for matured loans and loans with annual reviews including the collection of complete financial packages and other necessary items.
- Analyze existing relationships and make recommendations to Business Bankers on possible expansion opportunities for new loans, deposits, or products.
- Collaborate with Business Bankers and Business Banking Specialists in managing member relationships.
- Address client inquiries and requests and manage past due loans and collections within assigned portfolio.
- Track required covenants and financial statements including A/R agings for borrowing base monitored lines of credit and work with borrowers, Business Bankers and third-party vendors to obtain missing documentation and resolve discrepancies.
- Accompany Business Bankers on borrower calls and assist with pre-call preparation including the drafting of letters of intent, research requests, appraisal bid forms and site visits, as requested.
- Work with Special Assets Team and Business Bankers on delinquent and/or criticized loans and facilitate strategy on recoveries. This may include correspondence with legal counsel on actions to be taken.
- Generate, review, interpret and distribute various reports regarding borrower financial information, covenants, upcoming loan re-pricings and tickler items. This includes resolving issues and/or inconsistencies observed through either personal action or by tasking others and following up to confirm completion of task.
- Provide documentation when requested by auditors, accounting, compliance, loan review and examiners.
- Complete required regulatory and institutional training.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need:
- High School diploma and college level accounting or finance courses or equivalent experience.
- Two years’ experience in financial services with a background in Commercial Lending preferred.
- Ability to analyze, interpret and prepare financial spreads, industry comparison reports, cash flow, projections, and borrowing base calculations.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication.
- Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to accomplish goals within established deadlines.
- Desire to support and serve Business Bankers and DFCU members.
