What will I be doing?
- Monitor and review grant expenditures to ensure compliance with grant guidelines and regulations for various State and Federal funded grants.
- Enter and maintain project budgets, budget amendments, and budget adjustments; monitor expenses versus budgets to assist program staff with project oversight.
- Prepare and submit timely requests for reimbursements to grantor agencies.
- Prepare and submit grant manual billings and monthly adjusting journal entries as needed.
- Prepare and submit timely interim and final closeout financial reports to grantor agencies.
- Maintain monthly grant schedule of expenditures and monthly grant AR reconciliation for assigned grants.
- Meet with program staff on a monthly basis to review project expenditures, budgets, and address any questions that arise.
- Review grant accountants’ grant schedules and AR reconciliations to provide additional oversight; ensuring accuracy and identifying areas that need further review.
- Perform project and general ledger coding review for check requests and purchase requisitions.
- Review Accounts Payable batches for proper project and general ledger coding; ensure sufficient backup documentation is attached to support payments.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing process.
- Assist with program monitoring and agency audits.
Key Qualifications
- Knowledge of Governmental Accounting principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to accurately perform multiple tasks & prioritize deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications.
Do you have…
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study.
- 5 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related business field.
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related business field.
- 8 years of experience working with local government and/or nonprofit programs.
