Our global client is adding a Sr. International Tax Analyst role to their staff. This will be an exciting opportunity to work remotely and have the chance to travel internationally to support overseas projects. This position will play a key role in their tax department, with an emphasis on ASC740 compliance and reporting for international operations. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely tax reporting, as well as providing strategic tax planning guidance to optimize the global tax position.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial data and ensure compliance with ASC740 reporting requirements.
- Analyze and interpret tax laws and regulations related to international operations, including transfer pricing, foreign tax credits, and tax treaties.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize the effective tax rate for international entities.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact the company's international tax position, and recommend appropriate actions to management.
- Assist with tax audits and inquiries related to international tax matters, including preparing documentation and responding to tax authority requests.
- Provide guidance and support to junior tax team members, fostering their professional development and growth.
- Collaborate with external advisors and consultants as needed to address complex international tax issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or advanced degree (Masters in Taxation, JD) preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in international tax compliance and planning, with a focus on ASC740 reporting preferred.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP accounting principles and their application to tax reporting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in tax software applications (e.g., Onesource Tax Provision) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them to specific business situations.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to clearly articulate tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
- Detail-oriented approach committed to accuracy and precision in all tax-related activities.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while also collaborating effectively within a team setting.
