Financial Reporting
The position reports to the Financial Reporting Manager and will partner closely with other stakeholders at Arlington and at the different business units.
The position is primarily responsible to assist in the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and the rules and regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission. To assist in the preparation of SEC (10-K, 10-Q, 11-K, S filings) and other public filings, including the coordination and preparation of required disclosure information for 100+ business units world-wide. To assist in identifying and communicating to key stakeholders, the impacts of new or proposed accounting interpretations, pronouncements, or other technical literature. To assist with the implementation of process improvements including system reporting upgrades and data collection.
Skills
- Excellent documentation skills – attention to detail, rigorous work paper standards
- Able to research and apply technical accounting concepts (thorough knowledge of GAAP)
- Able to understand and comply with XBRL requirements and other SEC reporting rules
- Exposure to SAP and consolidation systems is desirable, Microsoft 365 (Word and Excel in particular) products
- Able to identify process improvement needs and implement solutions, preferable through digital tools
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated and strong organizational skills
- Aptitude for understanding accounting systems and consolidations logic
Education
- BS in Accounting
- CPA strongly preferred
Experience
- 1 to 3 years of experience with public/private mix
- Current relevant experience in preparation and review of SEC filings in a multi-national environment
- Large public accounting company experience
- Exposure to complex technical accounting issues – impairments, defined benefit plans, discontinued operations, acquisitions, divestiture accounting, business combinations, consolidation, equity method accounting, etc.
- Exposure to process improvement projects / digital transformation initiatives
- Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred
