Fast growing SouthEast Market Leader in Commercial Insurance and Risk Management has a new role open for a Controller to establish their Accounting and Finance Department.
Long term growth opportunity to work with a driven energetic Senior Management team to build a team and work towards becoming a CFO as the company grows.
Controller Position Responsibilities:
- Insurance Trust vs Insurance Ops Accts -Transfer or profit
- Oversight of Accounts Receivable
- Oversight of Company Payables
- Oversight of Vendor Payables
- Oversight of Bank Reconciliation
- Oversight of JV and Partnership Agreements
- Oversight of Month End Financial Close Out
- Oversight of Income Statement –Categories, Entries, etc.
- Review and Clean Up of any Previous Income Statements
- Budget Sheet Creation / Modification / Entry from Income Statements & Balance Sheet
- YTD and YOY Budget Tracking
- Payroll Tie-Off and Tracking (ADP Champion)
- Review payroll and commission payables/draw statements/reporting champion
- Process 1099/Interest Payments
- Quarterly Distributions to Shareholders
- Work with Corporate Accounting Firm on all Tax related issues
- Direct Bill Management
Controller Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- A minimum of 6 years’ experience in Public Accounting and/or Corporate Accounting
- CPA or CPA Candidate Preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office and general competency in Accounting Software
- Analytical and process-oriented mindset
- Desire for leadership responsibilities
