Revenue and Regulatory Accountant

Responsibilities
- Conduct the monthly Revenue and Regulatory accounting close processes including but not limited to:
- Verifying revenue contract pricing where relevant
- Booking non-operated properties
- Preparing monthly accruals and account reconciliations as assigned
- Processing of prior period adjustments
- Assisting in analyzing suspense/receivables accounts, monthly variances
- Assisting with annual 1099 and DR-0021 filings and internal/external audits as relevant
- Ensure accuracy in calculation, reporting and payment of ONRR, Tribal, Colorado and New Mexico royalty and respective severance tax obligations
- Coordinate with Production and Revenue accounting to reconcile production, tax and royalty reporting to state and federal regulatory agencies
- Follow internal control policies and procedures
Collaboration and Improvement
- Build relationship with Production and Midstream accountants to assist in executing activities
- Work in conjunction with Division Order team to review/process escheatable items and ensure correct ownership
- Work in partnership with functional organizations to drive improvements to add to the efficiency and effectiveness to the Revenue and Regulatory processes and controls in addition to other areas of the company
- Participate in training and development to maintain current knowledge and understanding of forthcoming changes to ONRR, Tribal, Colorado and New Mexico tax and royalty obligations
- Adhere to established internal controls as well as identify opportunities for improvements.
