SUMMARY:
Successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial and material resources of First-Plymouth Congregational Church, utilizing a team-oriented approach. (S)he will work with department leaders to contribute to the organization's success by ensuring daily operations run as smoothly and as efficiently as possible. Will have responsibility for the business operations of the church including accounting, employee benefits, insurance, investments, purchasing, budgeting and development coordinator. Must have strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. Excellent communications skills with the ability to work with a wide variety of employees and members.
FINANCIAL:
- Develop and manage budgeting process to guarantee the needs of all areas of the church are met while minimizing expenses and increasing efficiency.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements. Present for review to Sr. Minister, Treasurer, and other church leaders.
- Manage operating cash of the church to review financial data, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity.
- Work with Lincoln Community Foundation to ensure investments are managed appropriately. Maintains excellent working relationships with Banks and other financial institutions.
- Assumes responsibility for all in-kind and stock donations to the church.
HUMAN RESOURCES:
- Serves as the point of contact for HR consultants.
- Hands on involvement in payroll management.
- Provide employee benefits information as needed.
SKILLS and EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or finance required.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in operations required.
- Experience working in a small business having responsibility for multiple business functions is highly desired.
- Experience with human resource procedures and compliance.
- Easily adapts to a continuously changing set of priorities.
- Confidentiality including discretion and ethics are a must.
- Experience with Federal and State employment rules.
- Communicates promptly and respectfully to all.
- Service oriented. Creates an environment where feedback is welcome and responded to respectfully.
