The Cost Accountant II is responsible for maintaining the integrity of general ledger subsystems and manufacturing data. This role contributes to financial planning, including forecasting, budgeting, and profit margin analysis for financial reporting and decision-making. This role must work in-person at our Houston site.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the standard cost system for manufactured products.
- Assist in overseeing manufacturing work order processes.
- Conduct reviews, corrections, and reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and analyze monthly gross profit reports and assist in providing strategic insights.
- Develop metrics for analyzing operating results.
- Maintain G/L accounts for inventory across multiple plants, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist in forecasting variance reserves and managing expenses, including variance analysis.
- Support the coordination of general ledger data throughout the financial system.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 2-4 years of experience in cost accounting or a related field.
- Proficiency with PC operations, Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems.
- Experience in manufacturing and standard cost accounting.
- Ability to engage in problem-solving and support cross-functional collaboration.
