We are currently looking for aSenior Cost Accountantto join our team in ahybridrole. This person prepares cost accounting information and related analysis reporting that are completed accurately and in a timely manner. The senior cost accountant ensures various account reconciliations and researches and resolves business unit issues and inquires.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepares and analyzes monthly/quarterly/year-end cost accounting closing, and financial reporting information.
- Responsible for accurate product costing and standard cost reporting.
- Assists in the preparation of annual standard revaluation.
- Works with various departments to maintain, analyze, and optimize all PPV data.
- Maintains detailed records of all plant related inventories.
- Reconciliation of raw material, work in process and finished goods accounts.
- Works with production and purchasing to develop and setup annual standard costs and labor and over rates for products.
- Coordinates on cost metrics with plant management to drive cost improvements.
- May escalate issues to supervisor/manager for resolution, as deemed necessary.
- Mentor other accounting staff as applicable.
- Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Assist with various projects as assigned by a direct supervisor.
- Manages the China internal invoicing process.
- Assists with Controller on physical inventory in both Mexico and Endicott.
- Assists in Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) inputting of data from the trial balance.
- Performs sales tax returns for various states.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Additional responsibilities may include focus on one or more departments or locations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree desirable.
- 5 – 8 years’ related experience; or a Master’s degree with 3 years’ experience
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and presentation skills.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Excellent PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and financial reporting systems.
- Proven track history of being a sole contributor, working with little or no supervision.
- Above average PowerPoint presentation skills desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to handle multiple activities at same time
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
