Salary Range: $100,500 – $111,000 is the hiring salary range (i.e., the range a candidate would be offered to start). Please note: OneGoal aligns salaries to Cost of Labor, so the actual salary offered would be dependent on the Cost of Labor in the candidate’s living location.

The Person
As the Senior Director of Accounting at OneGoal, you will be instrumental in ensuring the financial integrity and strategic direction of our organization. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining robust financial controls, driving operational efficiencies, and supporting our mission.
Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Director of Accounting will oversee critical financial functions and lead a team of dedicated accounting professionals. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing comprehensive financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
You will do this by:
- Managing a team of accounting professionals, providing support in daily operations and monthly close.
- Preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Reviewing and approving monthly adjusting and closing entries, including prepaids, accruals, and depreciation.
- Overseeing monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
- Completing annual closing entries such as Allowance/Credit Loss and Discount on Long-Term Pledges.
- Supervising accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring proper classification and tagging for restricted grants.
- Reviewing grant agreements and revenue entries to ensure revenue recognition compliance.
- Reviewing and tracking all Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), payment terms, and invoicing workflows.
- Collaborating across teams, particularly with revenue teams and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), to support revenue recognition and contract deliverables.
- Reviewing and approving bi-weekly payroll processing and payroll journal entries, ensuring accurate recording of payroll transactions.
- Preparing Temporarily Restricted Net Assets (TRNA) and Fee for Service reconciliations.
- Supporting the gathering of audit and 990 requests and ensuring timely responses to audit and tax inquiries.
- Leading data and process cleanup projects, implementing best practices and streamlined workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- The position may require quarterly travel for team retreats.
Qualifications:
- Lived experience of the Fellows we serve is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team.
- Experience in nonprofit accounting, including fund accounting principles and financial reporting specific to nonprofit organizations.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with federal grant compliance, including Uniform Guidance preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present financial information to stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
