Paid Time Off:
AMSURG offers paid time off, 9 observed holidays, and paid family leave. You accrue Paid Time Off (PTO) each pay period and depending on your position and can earn a minimum of 20 days and up to 25 days per calendar year.
SUMMARY:
The Senior Tax Accountant is primarily responsible for preparing complex tax returns, assisting in the preparation of provision workpapers, researching tax issues, and maintaining tax calendars and due date listings.
Work Schedule: Our Sr. Tax Accountants work a Remote-Centric Hybrid schedule requiring permanent residence within a 40- to 50-mile radius from the Green Hills section of Nashville. An onsite presence is expected for mailings and attending meetings 1-2 times per quarter.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares complex federal, state, and local partnership tax returns.
- Prepares federal and state tax returns for corporate subsidiaries.
- Processes quarterly estimated payments and extensions.
- Proactively interacts with other departments and center personnel to gather information, resolve tax-related problems, and make recommendations for process improvements.
- Assists in K-1 distribution process.
- Stays current on changing federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Assists in preparing tax provision schedules.
- Organizes and analyzes data using Excel.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures, including Information Security Policies and ensures that AMSURG remains as secure as possible.
- Performs other job-related duties as necessary.
- Regular and reliable attendance required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a four-year accredited College or University.
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in a corporate tax department or public accounting firm.
- Proficiency required with tax software programs such as CorpTax or OneSource Income Tax.
- Proficiency required with Microsoft Office software programs, i.e., Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, including Excel's complex formulas, pivot tables, and LOOKUPs.
Other Qualifications:
Ability to work independently and handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner. Must be able to work well with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be detail oriented and organized. High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information. Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency. Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Must pass a background check and drug screen.
