Accounting Manager
A telecommunications company, specializing in jail telephone services and commissary services, is seeking a full-time Accounting Manager to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting operations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the company's accounting and financial reporting processes
- Monthly accounting entries and reconciliation
- Manage 5-day close process.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including GAAP and jail-specific requirements
- Develop and implement effective internal controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial information
- Collaborate with department heads and stakeholders to develop and manage the annual budget
- Supervise and mentor the Junior Accountants and Senior Accountants.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in accounting and financial management
- 5+ years Prior experience managing employees required
- Full cycle accounting background, AP, AR, Cash Management, GL, Month End Close
- Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
