Job Summary:
The Audit Supervisor will oversee and manage the internal audit processes within the organization, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. This role will involve leading a team of auditors in evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, identifying areas of risk, and recommending improvements. The Audit Supervisor will work closely with senior management and various departments to ensure the integrity and efficiency of operations within the oil and gas sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise internal audit activities.
- Develop and implement audit programs and procedures.
- Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with established standards and regulations.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a team of auditors.
- Provide training and development opportunities for audit staff.
- Evaluate team performance and provide feedback.
- Risk Assessment:
- Identify and assess areas of significant business risk.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure effective internal controls are in place.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports with findings and recommendations.
- Present audit findings to senior management and stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication between the audit team and other departments.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Stay updated with changes in industry standards and regulations.
- Implement best practices in auditing and internal controls.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the audit function.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification such as CPA, CIA, or CISA is required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in auditing, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of auditing principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Working Conditions:
- This position is based in Houston, Texas.
- Occasional travel may be required to various operational sites.
- The role may involve working in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines.
