We are looking for a responsible and highly motivated Agronomy Specialist to join the Research and Development team in Windfall, Indiana. The specialist is an integral member of the multi-crop and cross-functional research center committed to supporting the development and testing of new traits, hybrids and varietal products in corn, soy and wheat.
Responsibilities - What you will do:
- Operate, validate and troubleshoot agricultural research equipment, including sprayers, tractors, planters, combines, and forklifts.
- Ensure general maintenance activities are conducted on a variety of agricultural equipment in a timely manner.
- Assist with weed management at research locations, including spraying and fertilizing operations, ensuring optimal plant health and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Assist with research center activities, including experiment planning, location mapping, seed preparation, data collection, pollinating, and leading field crews.
- Collaborate with local and departmental staff to follow protocols for timely data collection, summarizing results, noting problem areas, and recommending actions to be taken.

Qualifications
What Skills You Need:
- Associate/Bachelor's degree in agricultural/biological sciences or 2+ years related experience.
- Experience and the ability to operate a variety of agricultural equipment. Research equipment experience is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge and experience in agronomy, crop production, plant development, weed management, and/or small plot experimental design.
- Ability to develop working relationships with team members by exhibiting effective communication and personal interaction skills with a diverse group of people.
- Attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment. Self-motivation and the ability to initiate and execute projects, improvements, decisions, and problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently while setting high expectations.
- Adept at using standard software programs and learning internal data systems.
- Skills in leadership, operational safety, supervision, and time management.
- Ability to work extended days and weekends at critical times of the season, with some overnight stays during peak times required.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record is required, with the ability to obtain a CMV license if needed.
- Possess a commercial pesticide license or the ability to obtain one.
- Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds and working outdoors in varying ergonomic environments for extended periods of time.
