Joining Oxford City Council's Corporate Property Team is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a city steeped in history and innovation. You'll be at the forefront of managing and developing the city's diverse property portfolio, from historical landmarks to modern infrastructure.
Your new role
As an Estates Surveyor Team Leader, you will be an integral part of a team managing a diverse property portfolio which includes both operational and commercial properties with a range of occupiers including both corporate tenants and local traders. You'll lead a small team, whilst contributing to property management and professional activities, including landlord & tenant negotiations.
You will also:
- Undertake line management duties, including appraisals, performance, and personal development training for a small team.
- Provide appropriate leadership support to a graduate surveyor to enable them to work towards achieving membership of RICS.
- Carry out day-to-day commercial property management duties.
- Become a strategic partner, playing a lead role in the development of strategies to meet service and corporate priorities.
What you'll need to succeed
If you have a passion for property, an eye for detail and a drive and motivation to improve the environment, then this could be a fantastic next step for you - there is no requirement to have worked for a local authority previously or within the public sector before. You will need to hold a degree or equivalent qualification within a property related area, and ideally you will be a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. An ability to lead, develop and motivate a team to deliver excellent levels of customer service will be important.
