The Sr. Manager/ Director, Financial Operations will begin their tenure by overseeing the daily functions of the Credit department, ensuring efficient and effective management of all credit activities. This role involves preparing and presenting financial reports, managing staff workflow, reviewing significant orders and accounts, with an opportunity to modernize credit policies and procedures through process and technology improvements. The Sr. Credit Manager will also be responsible for staff development, performance evaluations, and fostering professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting or finance, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage and grow a high-performing team. This role will grow to oversee other financial operations teams as well.
Reporting to the SVP of Operations, as the Sr. Manager/ Director, Financial Operations you will embrace the vision of a technology-enabled, world-class team. You will build on that vision by optimizing people, process, and technology. The team is located locally to Halo’s corporate headquarters in Sterling, IL, domestically remote, along with a partnership with an offshore team. Your vision will include fostering a customer-centric mindset with focus on coaching and developing leaders of the future, exceeding key performance indicators while driving efficiency gains through automation, inclusive of workflow management and technology improvements.

Core Responsibilities
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports and end-of-month financial reports for management review.
- Manage departmental workflow by delegating tasks to staff and intervening with account executives, sales leaders, and other internal stakeholders as necessary.
- Review and approve orders over $75K and conduct quarterly reviews of accounts over $250K to validate credit limits.
- Analyze Credit Safe reports and customer financials to recommend appropriate credit limits.
- Develop, modernize, enforce, and monitor Credit department policies and procedures.
- Oversee staff performance, provide coaching, assist with recruiting new staff, and develop employees.
- Prepare and deliver performance reviews, suggest merit increases, and communicate recommendations to employees.
- Facilitate monthly departmental meetings and conduct weekly 1:1 meetings with the Team Lead and team members.
- Serve as a liaison between the Credit team and Account Executives/Management.
- Review and approve weekly timecard reports, track overtime, and time-off requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
- 3+ years of Credit and supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills:
- Have a proven ability to lead by example and positively influence the growth of direct reports.
- Embrace strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Have proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, TEAMs, and general ledger accounting software.
- Maintain a strong understanding of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Exhibit effective time management skills with the ability to multi-task under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Naturally project a positive and professional demeanor with outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Live within a 4-hour radius of Sterling, IL.
- Maintain the flexibility and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Compensation
The estimated base salary range for this position is between $80,000 - $120,000 USD. Compensation decisions consider a wide range of factors including education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity.
