As a Property Accountant, your primary responsibilities include making journal entries, reconciling bank statements, preparing financial statements, managing accounts receivable, and handling daily and monthly cash disbursements and receipts.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Reconcile Accounts Receivable, security deposits, and rent rolls to ensure accuracy in financial statements for all properties.
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports, which include journal entries, financial statements, and bank reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets by gathering key assumptions and capital budget information.
- Analyze general ledger accounts and review ledger accuracy.
- Research and respond to inquiries from Property Managers concerning tenant statements.
What You Should Bring:
- Knowledge of real estate databases and transaction processes, including contract reviews.
- Understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience in accounting for multifamily real estate.
- Proficiency in Excel.
