The Lease Records Analyst will be responsible for the review, set up, and maintenance of oil and gas leases and land contracts per acquisitions, drilling program, land calendars, and incoming title.
Responsibilities:
- Set up oil and gas leases, rights-of-way, unit designations, and other typical land agreements in P2.
- Maintain leases and process ownership changes according to incoming amendments, releases, ratifications, etc.
- Tract out producing acreage and update agreements upon first production.
- Assist with the monthly payment calendar recommendation, payment process, and payment mailing.
- Analyze payment and obligation provisions to calculate and set up minimum royalty payments, options to extend, delay rentals, water use, shut-in, and surface damage payments.
- Maintain mineral and working interest ownership in conjunction with division order analysts and landmen.
- Create new BA owners in P2 for land check requests and new agreement setups.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies in P2 Land and digital files.
- Resolve and respond to owner relations inquiries directly related to Lease Records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent Oil & Gas Land Administration Lease Records experience, required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Oil & Gas Land Administration in Lease Records, required.
- Land Administration experience in Texas plays preferred.
- Proficiency in P2 Land or similar Land system, required.
- Experience with electronic files and digital data management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word mail merge and handling mass mailings.
- Able to prioritize and timely manage multiple projects according to defined, teamwork processes.
- Able to handle Lease Records related owner relations inquiries.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Lease Records knowledge including:
- Lease, royalty, and joint interest partner concepts.
- Monthly land payment calendar.
- Understanding of tracts and depths.
- Understanding of ownership and interest types.
- Understanding of chaining title to identify original leases for current deck owners.
- Motivated to continually learn and develop in Lease Records.
- Strongly analytical, research-driven, self-starter, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to complete work efficiently with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and SharePoint.
- Data entry proficiency in Land software systems.
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize based on business requirements.
- Adaptable and flexible in implementing processes and workflows.
