Position Summary
The Senior Treasury and Debt Analyst provides comprehensive analytical support for the University’s debt portfolio, including leading the coordination of tax and covenant compliance, as well as supporting the planning and execution of debt transactions. Lead private business use calculations including managing data, forecasting and modeling, as well as assisting with financial analyses for capital planning and ad hoc requests. Present relevant findings as well as summarize the results. Manage preparations for IRS private use reporting and other tax-exempt debt compliance requirements. Provide support materials for NYU Board of Trustee presentations, credit reviews, and materials for lenders and conduit bond issuers for NYU’s debt transactions – including tax-exempt bonds, taxable bonds, commercial paper, and private loans. Interact with other members of the Treasury team, the Office of Budget and Financial Planning, and relevant counterparts at the NYU Langone Medical Center.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree Finance, Accounting, Business or related fields.
Required Experience:
5+ years investment banking, financial modeling or similar experience.
Preferred Experience:
5+ years public finance experience, ideally within higher education. Familiarity with debt structures, capital markets and banking practices. Knowledge of IRS tax-exempt bond compliance requirements and other transactional legal documents. Reporting software experience including Tableau. Formal training in Excel model building.

Excellent financial analysis skills including experience with financial modeling and project management in a large corporate, and/or banking services setting. Capacity to think and act strategically. Demonstrated leadership qualities. Ability to independently prioritize workflow, request assistance from colleagues and external partners, and achieve on-time execution of deliverables. Strong written/graphical and interpersonal communication skills. Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability to confidently manage third parties. Ability to research, synthesize, report and recommend solutions for complex financial problems.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $100,000.00 to USD $120,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
