Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the incumbent supports the total accounting function for the company by performing and overseeing higher-level accounting duties such as financial reporting, compliance, and payroll, as well as carrying out more routine functions such as processing accounts receivable/payable transactions. In addition, the job holder leads the daily execution of the Finance Department and will be tasked with developing the staff under the Chief Financial Officer's direction.
Supervisory Responsibility:
The Assistant Controller assists with supervising the staff accountant(s) and accounting specialist(s).

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Excellent knowledge of accounting processes (e.g., budgeting and financial closure) and GAAP.
Ability to analyze and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations and deal with ambiguity.
Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills.
Strong research and analytical skills, and attention to detail.

Physical Demands:
Must be able to physically perform medium work: exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, 20 lbs. of force frequently, and 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
Visual requirements include clarity of vision at a distance of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet without correction, color vision, depth perception, and field of vision.
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and/or two (2) years of accounting experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred, with a solid understanding of payroll and sales tax compliance, ERP software experience, and advanced Excel spreadsheet skills.
