Job Description Summary:
This position serves in a Senior role and is responsible for successful development and completion of financial related analysis, forecasts and projects. Assists stakeholders with completion of detailed monthly financial reviews and annual budget. Performs as a central resource for operations and finance on a specified subject matter.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) of the following required:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities are acquired.
- MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of four (4) years’ hospital analytical or finance experience required.
- Project management skills required. Must be able to effectively manage project timelines and stay on-target to meeting all deadlines, while providing high quality work.
- Must have strong computer application skills with demonstrated competence with Microsoft Excel and data analytic tools required. Meditech experience preferred.
- A solid understanding of financial concepts, ratios and valuation methodologies required.
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
- Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Job Specific Duties:
- Provides decision support and financial analysis for assigned Logan Health entities/departments. Process includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Researches, analyzes, identifies, and evaluates data from internal systems to evaluate existing and potential trends and issues.
- Recommends, communicates, and implements solutions to identified problems/root cause of issues.
- Prepares pro-formas, forecasts, and analysis.
- Provides financial insights and guidance to operations and corporate team as required.
- Represents and participates in group and/or committee discussions.
- Oversees operating budget process for assigned Logan Health entities/departments. Process includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Trains leadership on software and tools available for budget preparation.
- Ensures timelines are adhered to.
- Assists leadership in obtaining relevant data points for consideration.
- Evaluates leadership’s proposed budget staffing, comparing productivity to prior year and benchmarks.
- Reviews completed budget with leadership to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Directs variance reporting and productivity analysis process for assigned Logan Health entities/departments. Process includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Trains leadership on software and tools available for performance reporting and productivity reviews.
- Provides data validation, ensures data from various reporting platforms is consistent and accurate, and provides root cause analysis, communication, and solutions when issues are identified.
- Oversees and assists leadership with the development and documentation of bi-weekly, monthly and year-to-date variance analysis.
- Works with leadership to develop, update, and manage to daily productivity for relevant departments.
- Assists leadership in compiling data analysis to support variance comments.
- Assists leadership in the development and documentation of targeted Action Plans for financial / productivity improvement.
- Facilitates review meeting between leadership and Finance and Ops Directors to report on variance analysis and action plans.
- Responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure completion in a timely fashion. Process includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Works with stakeholders to determine and define project scope and objectives.
- Creates a timeline of project completion to ensure tasks are finished within the confines of the assignment.
- Monitors progress and provides adaptability and problem solving tactics to meet deadlines.
- Evaluates project performance to identify areas for improvement.

Schedule: Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
