The Accounts Payable Manager will be responsible for leading Altium's accounts payable function within the shared services organization. This position oversees the processing of the vendor invoices, preparation of payments, reconciliation of accounts, reporting and management of queries from both internal and external customers.
Essential Function - Roles/Responsibilities
Help build and manage a high-performing accounts payable team that can be scaled to support organic and acquisition growth.
Streamline, and optimize process workflows and procedures.
Create departmental structure that will support organizational growth.
Hire and retain accounts payable associates.
Maintain relationships with both internal and external customers.
Create or update policies that impact accounts payable.
Train users in applications and maintained by accounts payable.
Oversee and coordinate AP team in the execution of standard AP processes, but not limited to:
Invoice processing and payment.
Processing and administration of T&E and P-Card programs.
Processing and filing of 1099s.
Month end close, Accruals and reconciliation,
Reporting and fulfilling audit requests as relates to accounts payable.
Align with the Director of SS
Business partner to the executive team and operational leaders, including Sourcing/Purchasing, Engineering, plant managers and other key stakeholders across the Company.
Cross functional collaboration to create alignment with the overall organization's vision, other departments, as well as those of the AP shared services.
Lead process improvement initiatives in the AP function.
Establish key performance indicators (KPI's) to measure AP shared services performance.
Key player in optimizing JD Edwards and other technologies to support AP processes.
Drive automation initiatives in AP business processes potentially including OCR/ICR, EDI, ACH, RPA, and other tools.
Drive adherence to AP Policies & Procedures to maximize operational efficiency, and professional development of team members.
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related areas.
Minimum of 5 years of AP management experience with a history of service level improvements.
Good mix of functional / process knowledge and technology skills
This position involves frequent contact with internal customers / stakeholders within our various Business Units, including suppliers.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication skills.
Ability and experience leading organizational and process change.
Detail oriented, challenging the status quo, excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Strong people management/leadership skills including coaching, mentorship, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and fostering cross functional teamwork.
Team player with the ability to manage in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proficient in using MS Office including Excel.
Highly preferred:
Experience in manufacturing or distribution industry
Large scale organization and working in a Shared service organization
Process improvements, documentation, streamlining workflows automation and project management
