Job Summary
The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant will perform various duties related to the financial reporting process for Fidelity & Guaranty Life and subsidiaries. Areas of responsibility include preparation of financial statements and footnote disclosures required for Statutory reporting. The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant will also support the Statutory Financial Reporting team with respect to internal and external audit requests.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Preparation and review of the Statutory financial statement reporting packages as assigned, including related footnotes, schedules and analysis
- Prepare analysis and utilize reporting tools to obtain information from the general ledger (Oracle) and/or financial data warehouse as required to assist with the reporting, reconciliation and analytic duties related to position
- Preparation or review of journal entries and account reconciliations including supporting analysis when applicable
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and/or internal control enhancements
- Support compliance with internal control procedures and documentation of controls
- Support internal and external audits
- Pursue path of continuous process improvement opportunities (including automation) to identify and provide recommendations
- Assisting with ad hoc requests, special projects and other duties related to Statutory financial reporting and analysis, as assigned
Experience And Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA or pursuing CPA Preferred
- 4+ years accounting experience in sophisticated accounting environment
- Statutory insurance experience highly desirable
- Big Four experience desirable

- Strong computer knowledge including familiarity of financial based client-server packages desired
