Interpret and apply U.S. GAAP to monitor the accuracy of general ledger accounts and reported financial results. Responsible for a wide variety of general accounting duties to include journal entries, consolidation, elimination entries, variance analysis and financial statement preparation.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in maintaining all financial records of the Company and subsidiaries, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and company policy.
- Analyze operational results for required month end accruals and adjustments and determine appropriate journal entries.
- Review and complete daily and month-end close procedures and reconciliations.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and intercompany transactions.
- Actively participate in the year-end audit and the preparation of the audited financial statements.
- Ensure integrity of accounting records through well prepared journal entries with adequate backup documentation, detailed analysis, and monthly reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for internal and external parties.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of key accounting policies, accounting files and work papers, and systems process documentation.
- Code invoices for respective projects, maintain fixed assets database.
- Identify and integrate new technologies to enhance accounting and reporting systems.
- Three (3) - five (5) years of Accounting experience (Power/Energy industry a plus).
- Solid understanding of and experience with GAAP principles.
- General Ledger, financial reporting systems, preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and supporting month-end close processes.
- Proficient with MS Office suite applications, and ERP systems (Great Plains, Workday, SAP, Epicor, etc.). GP experience and Management Reporter highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and process financial and accounting data.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Keen multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills; attention to detail.

- Ability to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
