What You Will Do:
We are looking for a full-time Sr. Accountant with Project Accounting experience to work in our Atlanta office. The Sr. Accountant will report to our Accounting Manager and will be responsible for managing various financial aspects of projects including creation, review, billing and revenue. We’re looking for someone who has an eye for detail, adaptable, and likes to collaborate.
Responsibilities:
As a Sr. Accountant, your primary responsibilities in this role will be:
- Working closely with project managers, project coordinators, engineers and other team members to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Managing the invoicing process, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
- Communicating effectively with clients, providing updates and addressing any concerns related to invoicing.
- Providing direction and leadership to Project Accountant Analyst, answering questions, establishing processes, ensuring performance expectations are met etc.
- Performing activities related to insurance, payables, liens, billings, budget report for the project management team.
- Identifying and collaborating with other team members to implement improvements to project accounting process and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Managing project set ups and reviews.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end process including reconciliations.
- Generating existing reports monthly to support internal and external stakeholders.
- You may also perform other duties as assigned including working on other projects
What We Are Looking For:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree (with equivalent experience) in Accounting.
- Minimum 7 years Accounting Experience with 5+ years Project Accounting experience.
- Experience supervising people is preferred
- AEC industry experience preferred.
- Intermediate skills in Excel required, advance preferred. Ability to create pivot tables, use lookup functions, understand and edit excel formulas etc.
Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and standard practices
- Proficiency in specialized project accounting software (e.g. Oracle, Deltek) and other financial management tools (Textura). Acumatica experience is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and have strong attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in managing general ledgers, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to convey financial information to different audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to regulatory changes, new technologies and a growing/evolving business environment.
