The Financial Analyst will support the Commercial Finance team by providing insightful financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting to aid in strategic decision-making. This role will focus on maximizing financial performance and efficiency across various commercial activities, driving profitability, and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives as related to the Field Services business unit.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders on various financial activities, such as periodic forecasting, annual budgeting, and monthly results reporting for the Field Services business unit.
- Provide management with detailed, actionable insights on key Field Services project KPI’s by analyzing results, monitoring variances to plans and forecasts, and identifying key trends.
- Develops dynamic financial models to aid in budget, forecast, and month-end reporting processes.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of financial performance reviews to senior management.
- Understand the percentage-of-completion revenue recognition process and be responsible for explaining deviations to management.
- Ensure KPI accuracy of current and historical financial data.
- Support the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies during financial analysis and reporting.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as directed by the commercial finance and operations teams.
- Support special projects as necessary.
BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; MBA or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years professional work experience.
- Familiarity with accounting/finance principles as applied to profit and loss statements.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and building strong working relationships.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Experience working with and consolidating large amounts of data.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial planning software (e.g., Hyperion, SAP) a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while balancing multiple tasks simultaneously.
