Business Technical Supply Analyst 2Job SummaryThis position is first point of contact for all of Parking's internal and customer-facing parking technologies; providing repair/maintenance, troubleshooting customer assistance for Parking, Transportation and Fleet Services' approximately 40 full-time users, 20 workstations, 12 servers, 3 stand-alone automated pay stations, 75+ EV chargers, parking guidance systems, parking control systems in 6+ garages, credit card machines, remote support center, office systems, counting systems, valet parking technology, digital logging, GPS tracking systems, app-based payment systems and other technologies and hardware.
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the physical operation and programming of highly specialized parking systems, provides end user support to PATS staff, UC Davis Health employees, students, and customers; performs systems administration, and performs systems setup, installation and configuration of parking related servers and workstations including local & network printers, enforcement equipment and peripheral devices.
Duties include support of PATS hourly and daily parking locations throughout campus. Troubleshoot all hardware and software issues and responsible for support of secure parking and payment systems. Ensure procedures are current. Install and maintain server and desktop applications. Responsible for training and assisting users including solving problems with applications. Responsible for hardware and software inventory control; maintain system documentation including Credit Card inventory and inspections, IP addresses, computer accounts and other documentation of computer related material. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning tasks on parking and computer related hardware and is responsible for ensuring hardware is functioning properly. Act as liaison with vendors related to purchases, repairs and software issues.
Provide technically oriented day-to-day administrative support including email listserv, assisting with spreadsheets and data manipulation for reports, reconciliation, programming access cards, credit card device inspection, web site changes, guiding customers through online services and assisting to provide excellent customer service.

- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Experience working with and supporting systems running on various operating systems including Microsoft Windows 10/11, Windows Embedded, Windows Server 2008/2012/2016+, Linux/CentOS. Experience working with servers in a virtualized environment.
- Experience providing excellent customer service /end user support at all levels, in a highly specialized technical environment, with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
- Demonstrated skill installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading parking access revenue and control systems (PARCS); including excellent technical knowledge and demonstrated proficiency supporting electronic validation systems, LPR technologies, credit card payment systems, ticket spitters, HID access cards, valet systems, pinhole cameras, and intercom systems; and demonstrated excellent understanding of their underlying technologies and internal components.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills to repair or communicate with individuals assigned to service parking control equipment.
- Excellent analytical skills to accurately capture and document systems and business requirements; develop business requirements which are accurate, consider technical restraints, and meet system and/or user needs; ability to construct data and process models reflecting business requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of network systems and communications (network protocols DHCP, TCP/IP, etc.) and Internet-enabled architecture including routers, switches, firewalls, network interface cards, fiber-optics, etc., in an enterprise environment.
- Excellent skills in performing and documenting unit, system, and integration tests on both new and enhancement development projects.
- Demonstrated proficiency to design and apply creative and innovative concepts to systems design and application programming to meet the expectations of and to support the service and delivery needs of the department, the campus, and customers.
- Advanced skill at creating technical documentation for complex processes and applications.
- Ability to use personal computers to generate ad-hoc reports, manipulate data with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and present findings to a non-technical audience.
Preferred Qualifications- California Class C Driver's License
- IT Security and or networking-related certification.
- Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent training/experience.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting.
- Cash handling experience and abilities.
- Broad understanding and skill in machine operations, mechanical devices, and electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of Parking-specific products and technologies including AIMS, ParkMobile, Parkeon and SKIDATA, EV chargers, and wayfinding systems.
- Proficiency in complex computer languages, including, but not limited to HTML, XML, JavaScript, SQL, VB Script, PowerShell; and development environments, including, but not limited to Oracle and MS SQL.
- Technical expertise and ability to write and debug code required to support operating systems, application development and network processes.
- Skill to read and interpret mechanical drafting plans, blue prints, electrical schematics, and technical instruction manuals.
- Knowledge of California Vehicle Code 21113a and UCD Traffic and Parking code.
- Thorough knowledge of all hospital streets and parking areas and the various parking instructions and exceptions as they apply to staff, patients and visitors.

Department OverviewThe Parking Services Department is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and enforcement of all University Medical Center parking. The unit sells permits (either by cash or through payroll deduction), oversees valet operations, staffs kiosk-operated parking lots and automated facilities, and oversees metered lots. The issuance and sale of Parking Permits are strictly controlled by the department. Enforcement of all parking areas is performed by uniformed staff in accordance with California Vehicle Code 21113a; citations issued by agreement with the Sacramento Municipal Court.
