The Freedom Accounting team is responsible for the accurate and timely monthly Accounting processes for the Freedom Fertility business. Freedom Fertility Pharmacies are part of Evernorth’s group of specialty pharmacies servicing the unique needs of patients. This role includes preparing work papers, creating journal entries, documenting workflow, account reconciliations, analysis of results and communication to management.
The individual must exhibit a team player attitude with self-driven motivation, the ability to work independently, adapt with changing business needs, self-start, prioritize multiple projects and communicate effectively. A candidate should possess a strong ability to work through complex tasks with little direct instruction.
Essential Functions
- Prepare and process accurate monthly journal entries including but not limited to Revenue, Accounts Receivable, Cost of Sales & Inventory activity.
- Perform general ledger reconciliation and account analysis with reconciliations of sub-ledger balances to the general ledger, which may include Accounts Receivable, Cash, Credit Cards and Revenue among other accounts.
- Assist with variance analysis, month over month trends and prepare monthly reports to present to Freedom leadership.
- Collaborate with multiple departments including Billing and Reimbursement, Treasury, Operations, Purchasing, Product Development & Sales.
- Maintain workflow documentation and updates narratives as appropriate.
- Assist with ongoing development of enhancements to accounting processes, procedures, documentation and controls.
- Participate in other projects/assignments as needed.
- Assist internal and external auditors with reviews, as necessary.
- Provide help to and guide members of the team.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; proficiency in accounting processes, procedures and controls
- Experience in General ledger account analysis / reconciliations
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues using innovative solutions and approaches
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
- Demonstrate ability to meet multiple deadlines and manage heavy workload
- Ability to create and develop new work paper tools through the use of advance Excel functions to accommodate new or changing processes and programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent concentration
- 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Computer Skills: Strong Microsoft Office Excel skills are essential. Essbase, Business Objects, and Tableau experience is a plus
- Strong data analysis skills necessary
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate departmental and project deadlines.
- Works independently, with guidance on complex issues
