Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Plant Accountant to join our team. The Plant Accountant will work closely with the business team to ensure the efficient financial operations of our plant. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the Plant Operations Team in developing annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets and provide variance analysis.
- Cost Accounting: Support the Plant Operations Team in analyzing production costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing cost control measures.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory valuation, reconciliation, and reporting. Ensure accuracy of physical inventory counts and investigate any discrepancies.
- Internal Controls: Assist in maintaining effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes. Analyze trends, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations for operational enhancements.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits. Prepare audit schedules and provide necessary documentation to support audit inquiries.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects as assigned by the Plant Operations Team or senior management. Provide financial analysis and support for initiatives aimed at improving plant performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems. Experience with SAP or Oracle is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
