We are seeking a Population Health Analyst to join our ICS Employee Benefits team in Waukee, IA. Ideal candidates will excel in collaboration, communication, and continuous learning. This role focuses on measuring performance, understanding key drivers, and identifying opportunities to enhance captive members’ engagement and claims experience. Responsibilities include assisting with health and well-being risk management strategy, developing new initiatives, and utilizing our analytics platform to derive insights and address questions related to clinical care and population health.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate data-driven discovery, intellectual curiosity, and a passion for answering important clinical care and population health questions.
- Collaborate with operational and captive leads to design, track population health metrics, and provide data-driven insights.
- Create reports and dashboards to communicate performance to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Engage with end users to understand their questions and determine appropriate methodologies.
- Provide analysis on medication management, vendor operations, health outcomes, and opportunities to improve performance and reduce inappropriate medical spend.
- Aggregate and interpret data to identify target populations for interventions and evaluate intervention effectiveness.
- Identify data trends impacting performance and member outcomes.
- Develop key performance indicators to measure clinical and wellness outcomes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on the data analytics platform, finding new ways to leverage its capabilities.
- Assist with responsibilities related to captive member meetings, including developing agendas, presentations, and other materials.
- Create reports and dashboards to communicate captive member performance and trends.
- Educate committee members on population health topics and initiatives.
- Facilitate health/well-being portions of meetings and calls, and handle related follow-up communications.
- Maintain positive work relationships and participate in team meetings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, personnel, and team members.
- Experience with reporting tools like Qlik, PowerBi, and Tableau.
- Commitment to ongoing education on insurance topics and system improvements.
- Knowledge of industry trends and ability to build industry relationships.
Qualifications:
- Education: Acquire, and maintain, active life/health insurance agent’s license within 90 days of employment. College degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of two to five years of experience in employee benefits, providing customer service and clinical risk services.
