Description
- Leads design and documentation of the assembly/battery plant areas with regards to the facilities and equipment. Ensures accuracy of the building layout, verification checks and integration of supplier drawings.
- Provides layout support for new installations and optimization measures of structures, conveyors and equipment.
- Provides layout support for engineering projects, including equipment, e.g. robots, lift assists, structural, conveyors, mezzanines and civil.
- Plans/creates layouts and drawings, revises complex engineering equipment, assembly, and installation drawings from basic layouts, references and data.
- Drives and completes successfully assigned layout projects and tasks.
- Maintains working knowledge of internal and external CAD standards and the drawing database. Leads project-oriented planning and realization of measures in collaboration with the internal customers as well as external suppliers.
- Determines optimal solutions in regards to costs, quality, ergonomics, technical innovation and environment.
- Tracks project landscapes, track deliverables with regards to layout drawings and other required documentation.
- Communicates with internal/external vendors and customers and collaborates with the management team regarding vendors.
- Schedules, facilitates and documents meetings for facilities and equipment planning activities.
- Manages open issue list, prepares presentations for facilities and equipment planning activities.
- Manages acceptance of the equipment drawings from the suppliers and hand-over to the process.
- Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving.
- Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial preferred).
OR
- AA/AS degree in a related discipline PLUS 2 years professional experience in a manufacturing engineering design/drafting environment.
OR
- 4 years professional experience in a manufacturing engineering design/drafting environment.
- 2+ years of experience with MicroStation or other CAD software.
- 2+ years of experience in an engineering environment (automotive process or automotive).
- 2+ years of experience with layout planning, project steering and support.
- 2+ years evaluation, organization, multi-tasking, and presentation skills.
- 2+ years verbal and written communication skills.
- 2+ years computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project).
- 2+ years ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- 2+ years German language (preferred).
