The SAP Finance Manager will help develop accounting policies and internal controls in SAP S/4HANA. This individual will ensure a relationship with business stakeholders, tech team, cross-functional teams, and external project consultants. The ideal candidate should have experience in various finance roles, good financial acumen and accounting knowledge, be proactive and a team player, and have the ability to work with cross-functional teams and lead a team.
What would I be doing?
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for partnering with finance in the implementation of SAP S/4 HANA capabilities supporting the design of the General ledger, Accounts Receivables, and Accounts Payables.
- Lead creating the new coding block including the hierarchies, P&L segments, profit center groups, Cost centers, Internal Orders, and a simplified General Ledger (Balance Sheet and the P&L).
- Enable trade fund accounting to ensure the sources and uses of trade funds are set up and accounted for accurately in SAP in compliance with GAAP, including impact on inventory carrying cost.
- Responsible for managing General Ledger support for all processes including journal entry processing, accruals, recurring entries, and month-end close.
- Work with other Process Team(s) in the development and execution of the test scripts in the integration testing cycles and UAT.
- Lead the data migration from the current ERP systems to SAP and ensure data validation and accuracy. Responsible for ensuring opening balances are correct and the financial statements are accurate.
- Support change management, training, and communication needs.
- Provide functional advisory support to ad hoc SAP/Non-SAP led initiatives and other finance transformation initiatives to support managerial decision-making.
- Develop and document accounting policies and procedures to support internal and external audits.
What would make me qualified?
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Product Costing.
- Experience working with Revenue Recognition, Revenue Accounting, Trade Funds, US GAAP.
- Proven experience in the implementation of Finance module within SAP S/4 HANA environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Manage business users independently, be self-motivated, proactive, and a team member.
- Ability to embrace new technologies and adapt to an evolving environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, CPA or an MBA preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience working on General Ledger, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Trade Fund accounting.
- Experience with supporting the implementation of SAP S/4 HANA required.
- Experience in Retail / CPG Industry preferred.
