Do you wish to play a critical role in providing transparency and insight into our business markets for Ramboll Americas? We are searching for a talented and engaging person to join our Line Management team supporting mainly our Country Management departments.
As our new Business Controller, you will be part of an open and collaborative team of diverse professionals. You will work independently as well as collaborate within the Business Finance team.
The primary responsibility is to generate monthly reporting, variance analysis, and offer data driven business insight to key stakeholders. Key stakeholders include market leadership, Head of Business Finance, and Americas Finance Director.

- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- 3-5 years’ experience with strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, month end variance analysis, management reporting, reporting tools, revenue recognition, and stakeholder management.
- It is an advantage if you have worked with cost controlling and support functions before and you must be able to be proactive and collaborate with key stakeholders to develop management teams, reports, and processes.
- You need to be driven and be proactive and willing to sometimes go beyond your role when needed.
- Strong Excel Skills
- Excellent communication (written & oral), interpersonal and organizational skills

- Ability to successfully lead meetings in a remote working environment where most stakeholders and team members are in different locations
- Periodic travel may be required.
- This role is a hybrid role position and will be expected to be in the office 2 - 3 days per week.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Business Controlling Responsibilities:
- Support market leadership in business planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Monitor business results and generate variance analysis for management
- Provide management reporting on financial issues at all levels
- Ensure correct month end results at department, division, market, and PBU/GP levels. This includes cost accruals, revenue recognition, follow-up on WIP, write downs, and claims handling in compliance with Ramboll policy.
- Engage in Process Optimization for Business and Project Controlling
- Attend relevant meetings and provide qualified input to commercial decisions
- Give complex financial advisory and contribute to business development
- Give support and advise to all level of Management on Financial Project Management issues
- Notify management on financial risk related to projects
- Provide information to management to be used for commercial decisions
Cost Controlling Responsibilities:
- Provide decision-making support for Heads of Department & FD manage (Country Management) overhead costs
- Deliver timely and accurate monthly close in-line with local and global procedures; track risks and opportunities for latest forecast
- Drive continuous cost improvement mindset, proactively identify opportunities to optimize costs, and support their delivery
- Manage the budget and forecast process for these departments, guiding decisions on the future shape of these functions
