BRIEF SUMMARY OF PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Senior Fiscal Analyst works to assist the agency to meet various financial reporting deadlines and payroll timelines. This position will assist with the preparation and monitoring of agency budgets, prepare financial and performance reports, maintain accounting functions, oversee accounts receivable/payables and payroll, provide technical assistance, monitor the agency internal cash flow, implement and manage automated accounting systems and supervise fiscal support staff.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, CPA preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Accounting experience in the areas of computerized accounting systems, budget preparation, general ledger, payroll, payables, receivables, account reconciliation and analysis, spreadsheet and audit preparation and must be proficient in the use of MS office applications.
- Working knowledge of the Uniform Grant Guidance regulations.
- The ability to supervise others in a fair and equitable manner.
- Must be willing and able to travel within all ten counties of the region (and at times out of region) in reliable transportation.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as accounting manuals.
- Has knowledge of financial management principles and practices with a high degree of accuracy and problem solving abilities.
- Possess an extreme level of attention to detail.
- Experience with accounting software and online platforms.
- Experience communicating results to senior leadership.
- Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan.
- Has the ability to work independently.
