Job Summary:
This role involves underwriting cases across the allocated geographical remit of the portfolio in line with the strategic philosophy and risk appetite of the portfolio and within the defined processes of the business to achieve sustainable, profitable growth targets. You will spend most of your time delivering underwriting decisions, contributing to business development activities and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. You will be dealing with customers, brokers, network partners and third parties, working with other colleagues and as part of a team.

Job Duties:

Review cases and deliver underwriting decisions, following agreed processes at the designated authority level, to secure profitable business within company's risk appetite and guidelines.
Contribute to peer review processes as required to support and enable the maintenance of an effective control environment.
Provide advice and guidance to the production of new policy documentation or reviewing of existing policy documentation to ensure the validity and accuracy.
Conduct analysis of accumulation of risk exposure.
Utilize previous experience, technical knowledge, resources and communication skills to collaborate with other teams to deliver the best outcome for the company.
Contribute to and/or lead the development and exploration of marketing activities and initiatives to increase penetration of existing customers and/or expand the distribution channels.
Proactively pursue up-selling and cross-selling opportunities to maximize profitable and sustainable revenue.
Interact with brokers and clients efficiently and in a timely manner in order to deliver high standards of customer satisfaction.
Travel within allocated geographical remit as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent), major in insurance and/or risk management is preferred.
Minimum 5 years relevant General Insurance industry experience, 3 years or above Property/Construction/Energy of underwriting experience is preferred.
Good network and knowledge in Hong Kong market is preferred.
Ability to contribute technically to portfolio growth.
Strong analytical, relationship management, negotiation and communication skills.
Positive attitude, open minded and willingness to learn.
Ability to perform under pressure and handle challenges.
Collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic environment and contributes positively to team success.
Professional industry qualifications/accreditations preferred.
Fully proficient in English.
