Senior Audit Manager

Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Senior Audit Manager for a direct hire opportunity with a financial services client.

Responsibilities:

Serve as Engagement Manager for large, complex, and higher risk projects that may be enterprise-wide in scope.
Plan, scope, and develop the audit test plan, using data analytics, and coordinating engagement resources and assignments.
Set clear quality expectations and analyze effectiveness and efficiency of process documentation based on the bank’s standards.
Create and present meaningful, relevant, and well-supported audit reports that align with the bank’s risk appetite framework.
Guide complex assignments by being very knowledgeable of the organization, business, and operations.
Possess strong subject matter expertise in a technical or specialized field.
Provide leadership and development through coaching and mentoring new and junior team members and providing effective project feedback.
Evaluate associated risk profiles to help ensure appropriate audit coverage.
Knowledge of current trends, new developments, technologies and practices in the auditing profession and banking industry.
Champion innovative techniques and methods to accomplish goals and objectives.
Pursue continuing education and possibly additional professional certifications, as appropriate.
Assist with annual planning, scheduling, and risk assessment process.
Provide feedback on the performance of the audit team.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or related field, or equivalent education and related training or experience.
8 – 10 years of audit experience.
Advanced knowledge, ability and expertise in audit and a broad understanding in multiple areas of banking and financial services.
Demonstrated leadership ability and decision-making skills.
Excellent understanding of risk management and process concepts.
Exceptional analytical, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to identify underlying concepts in complex information.
Proven ability to identify, communicate and teach others how to identify root causes of problems.
Applicable professional certification, such as, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor, or Certified Public Accountant.
Advanced degree preferred.
