Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Sr. QA professional specializing in Functional Testing and Test Planning for a challenging role in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Retirement, Group Insurance, and Institutional Banking domains, with a focus on ensuring that applications meet the highest standards of quality and functionality. This role involves test planning, execution, and coordination with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Planning and Strategy: Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies for functional testing, ensuring alignment with project requirements and timelines in the Retirement, Group Insurance, and Institutional Banking domains.
- Functional Testing: Execute functional testing activities, including writing and executing test cases, verifying functionality against requirements, and logging defects.
- Test Automation: Collaborate with automation engineers to integrate automated functional tests into the test strategy, ensuring efficient and repeatable testing processes.
- Coordination and Communication: Work closely with development teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure thorough test coverage.
- Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner. Provide detailed reports on test execution and defect status.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the testing process and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all testing activities adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements specific to the Retirement, Group Insurance, and Institutional Banking sectors.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to the testing process, tools, and techniques to enhance the quality and efficiency of the testing efforts.
Experience:
- Significant experience in the Retirement, Group Insurance, and Institutional Banking domains.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of functional testing methodologies and tools.
- Experience with test management tools like HP ALM, JIRA, or TestRail.
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Selenium, QTP/UFT, or Test Complete.
- Solid understanding of SDLC and STLC processes.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Quality Assurance (e.g., ISTQB Certified Tester).
- Experience with Agile methodologies and working in Agile teams.
- Familiarity with performance and security testing.
