Cost Management Analyst

Cost Management Analyst under supervision, develops professional proficiency in the delivery of cost management services by providing professional support to invoice validation, cost forecasting and reporting, change management and close out administration, including assistance with procurement, earned value and value engineering. This position will be performed remotely with occasional travel (10%) to Georgia. Our team's hubs are in Atlanta and Washington, DC.
Help clean-up coal ash across the state of Georgia by managing, evaluating, forecasting, and budgeting costs on large-scale ash pond closures efforts across the state. Requirements include 2 years of professional experience, preferable project management, construction, engineering, or analytics. Excellent analytical skills and people skills are required; we'll help enhance your project management and project controls expertise via training and supervision. Work to enhance the project management maturity for this client and be part of developing improvements and streamlining processes.
How will you contribute to the team?
- Supports the preparation and issuance of periodic cost reports.
- May input PO, orders and invoices into the cost report where applicable.
- Supports in the preparation of a cash flow with the cost report, and issues to client's finance/construction team.
- Prepares and routinely monitors a change order log.
- Supports the review of change orders in accordance with the client's approval process.
- Reviews and monitors all the invoices for the project. May code the invoices where applicable and forward them to the client's account payable department.
- Supports the procurement of construction and engineering services, including preparing RFP and bid analysis, where applicable.
- Supports the overview of contractor buyout of subcontract bid packages, where applicable.
- Organizes and attends bi-weekly cost meetings to review procurement status and change order status with the contractors and engineering teams.
- Supports the review of contractor closeout documents.
- Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
- Complexity - Work involves application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out somewhat diversified tasks requiring the use of analysis, interpretation, and deductive reasoning.
- Decision-making - Receives direct supervision on new aspects of assignments, exercising independent judgment on details of regular assignments, minor modifications, and adaptations of alternatives.
- Work direction given to others - May coordinate with and/or guide the work of junior technical staff and/or others who assist in specific assignments.
What will you contribute?
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Construction Management, Project Management, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, or Accounting or similar.
- 2 years professional experience in preferable project management, construction, engineering, or analytics.
- Experience with Primavera or Microsoft Projects is preferred. Must be articulate, have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and good decision-making abilities.
- Must have excellent communication skills and people management skills.
- Must generally understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
