The Finance Organization
At Verizon, we are building a world-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. VCG Home Commercial Finance Team Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. This Business Unit facing position offers opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. You are considered a business partner and your contributions will make a difference. You’ll be involved in helping stakeholders understand and incorporate different KPIs and analyses to deliver impactful and relevant insights for decision-making. Furthermore, you will be asked to put forth recommendations based on the derived insights to drive new initiatives and to help develop new products and services.
- Preparing financial analysis and modelling for senior management to understand the profitability of Home Consumer products and customers. This position requires an understanding of Verizon Home products, financials and operations in order to make the best-informed decisions possible.
- Supporting the financial analysis requirements of VCG and headquarter functions including Finance, Marketing, Network, Strategic Planning and IT.
- Interpreting data/business trends; translates them into findings; and presents the findings in concise, easily digestible data-driven insights to business sponsors and senior executives.
- Developing data and financial reporting models and tools used to evaluate the profitability of customers and products to inform major company financial decisions.
- Analyzing the profitability of new and existing Internet, TV and voice products and services.
- Updating financial models with current financial reporting; review assumptions to ensure accurate results; and incorporate new functionality and data elements into the models.
- Assessing the financial impact of strategic decisions and presents recommendations to leadership to drive profit optimization.
- Designing, developing and implementing methods and strategies to continually improve processes.
- Building strong relationships with business partners (marketing, finance, sales, etc.) to prioritize and align work efforts, deliverables, and how analyses are delivered.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business/Data Analytics or Economics or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Work suites.
- Experience in researching and solving problems and data discrepancies.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Extensive knowledge of Teradata Warehouses and SQL.
- A Master's in Business Administration, Finance, or Business/Data Analytics.
- Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry and knowledge of key industry metrics and wireline financial and operational drivers.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong financial modeling skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects; work effectively under tight time constraints, deliver results by critical deadlines and ability to focus on the details.
- Experience working both independently and in a team setting.
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management.
- Data mining, preparation and modeling experience.
- Understanding of Fios products and the IOSC product/pricing structure.
- Data Warehouse knowledge and experience with EDW tables and large data-set extraction/manipulation.
- Experience building dashboards (QLIK, ThoughtSpot, Data Studio, etc.).
- Knowledge of Fios & FWA Home products.
