Position: Domestic Violent Extremism/Terrorism Analyst
Salary: $20-$22/hr based on experience and may be eligible for some ACA benefits.
Full-time, Temporary (40 hours per week)

Summary of Work
The Domestic Violent Extremism/Terrorism Analyst is required to provide intelligence analysis and program support to the North Dakota Department of Emergency Services (NDDES) - Division of Homeland Security. The position is assigned to the North Dakota State and Local Intelligence Center (NDSLIC) and is dedicated to advancing initiatives related to combating domestic violent extremism (DVE) and terrorism, both foreign and domestic.

The DVE/Terrorism Analyst reports directly to the NDDES Protection Section Chief, who is assigned to the NDSLIC. This position will conduct open-source analysis and research concerning public safety, produce informational and/or intelligence products on domestic violent extremism, terrorism, etc., for law enforcement personnel, as well as other public and private sector stakeholders. Products are to assist with emergency and/or disaster prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery. This position will assist in the state's Critical Infrastructure Program with supervisor approval.
The DVE/Terrorism Analyst will follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure the protection of privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties. This position will assist with the development and support of the Information Liaison Officer (ILO) program to enhance stakeholders' ability to assess and manage threats.
The DVE/Terrorism Analyst will support the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) in training, exercise, and operational support as necessary. Travel in and out of state may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent and two years of professional work experience demonstrating extensive verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal communication skills. Relevant post-secondary education may substitute for the work experience on a year-for-year basis. Extensive knowledge of technology including Office 365. Must possess a ND Class D driver's license or equivalent from another state, valid auto insurance and an acceptable driving record. Must be able to respond within 30 minutes to the worksite. Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher and/or experience in information and intelligence collection analysis, writing, emergency management, threat, risk, vulnerability identification and mitigation. Successful completion of interview process, reference checks and background investigation.
