Responsibilities:
- Ensure verification of patient information, insurance details, and confirmation of coverage.
- Assign appropriate medical codes and maintain compliance with reimbursement guidelines.
- Accurately submit insurance claims and adhere strictly to fee schedules.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding and review of contracts between healthcare providers and insurers.
- Develop familiarity with fee schedules to ensure correct application to billed procedures.
- Engage in effective communication with healthcare providers to resolve queries and discrepancies.
- Align billing practices with the terms of contractual agreements.
- Stay vigilant to changes in contracts and modify billing procedures as required.
- Manage and address appeals for claims that are denied when necessary.
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff on updates related to contract procedures and fee schedule changes.
Qualifications:
- Possessing 1-3 years of experience in medical coding.
- Well-versed in healthcare privacy laws and compliance regulations.
- Proficiency in using Excel, PivotTables, and Power BI.
- Skilled in retrieving electronic remittances from third-party clearinghouses.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in communication and problem-solving skills.
