Senior Cost Accountant
As the Senior Cost Accountant, you will play a key role in our finance team, responsible for supporting the cost accounting function and providing valuable insights to drive business decisions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in cost accounting principles, conduct in-depth analysis of manufacturing costs, and contribute to the financial success of an emerging growth company within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities will include:
- Analyze manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead, to ensure accurate recording and reporting of product costs.
- Perform variance analysis to evaluate actual costs against standard costs, investigating and explaining variances to management and operational teams.
- Assist in the valuation of inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods (FG), applying appropriate cost methods (e.g., FIFO, LIFO, weighted average).
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement cost-saving initiatives
- Prepare and analyze cost-related data for inclusion in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing insights to support decision-making.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of standard costing methodologies for products and production processes.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing input on cost assumptions, trends, and projections.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate cost accounting processes, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls over cost accounting processes, including adherence to SOX requirements and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, engineering, and supply chain teams to align cost accounting activities with broader business objectives.

Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 5 years of experience in cost accounting within a corporate environment, preferably within a multinational organization.
- Solid understanding of cost accounting principles, standard costing methodologies, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and cost accounting software; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and levels of the organization
