What does a day in this job look like?
In this role, you will partner with project and programme managers to lead, drive and support continuous improvement and assurance functions.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure all Portfolio, Programme and Project reporting accurately reflects status (budget, milestones and scope), risks and issues, to the appropriate governance levels.
- Identify remediation plans and work with Sponsors, Business Owners, Programme Managers and Portfolio Managers to implement until the status comes back to green (via ‘go to green plans’).
- Embed continuous improvement changes into the portfolio environment (following recognised change management models i.e. ADKAR etc).
- Support project and programme managers with the implementation of these planned continuous improvements via coaching and mentoring.
- Attend governance group meetings (ex officio) to support Sponsors and members through the provision of internal assurance.
- Develop and maintain relationships with senior leaders/managers, business owners, project professionals within the organisation to become a recognised internal champion for project, programme, and portfolio advice.

Skills and experience we are seeking:
- Minimum of a Tertiary qualification or bachelor’s degree in management or engineering.
- 10+ years of project/programme management experience and/or ePMO/PMO establishment and management experience in large public or private sector organisations.
- 5+ years’ experience in leading through change and/or change management.
- The ability to translate technical knowledge and information into layman’s terms or business speak and vice versa.
- High level analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and develop innovative solutions.
- Experience in large public or private sector organisations.
- Prince2, PMBOK, Management of Portfolios (MoP), Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) or similar qualifications.
- Proven strong influencing and relationship skills.
