Position SummaryThe Senior Design Analyst will possess advanced expertise as a designer/checker in structural, mechanical, controls, and electrical equipment systems design and layout. This role requires a broad knowledge of technical applications, maintenance, operation, and clearance constraints, with a strong focus on adhering to industry standards and relevant specifications to ensure accuracy, quality, and completeness.
Position Responsibilities - Review all designer drawings including layouts and section views ensuring accurate BOM's, callouts, weld symbols, dimensions, and GD&T.
- Review dimensions and ensure components are dimensioned adequately to minimize tolerance stack-ups.
- Perform non-technical drawing reviews for compliance with standards for borders, blocks, text, CAD standards, notes, callouts, and view requirements to adequately depict the design intent.
- Perform design validation through tolerance stack analysis and calculations.
- Demonstrate a high-level of proficiency in ASME Y14 series of standards.
- Apply advanced engineering principles to Computer-Aided Design (CAD) systems with a high degree of accuracy.
- Develop innovative design solutions to address complex engineering challenges.
- Lead design teams, providing mentorship and guidance to junior designers to foster their growth and development.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills, with an emphasis on guiding and mentoring design teams.
- Display proficiency in conflict resolution and negotiation to manage design discussions and challenges effectively.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with diverse stakeholders, influencing decision-making processes to achieve optimal design outcomes.
Required Qualifications - Associate's degree, trade school diploma or equivalent technical experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 12 or more years' experience or equivalent with the primary responsibilities inclusive of mechanical component and assembly drawings and the creation of bills of materials.
- Experience using computer-aided drafting principles, geometric tolerancing fundamentals, and established design standards to create mechanical designs for ProEnergy Services manufacturing.
- Experience with CAD Software (Solidworks, Inventor, or NX preferred).
- Technical competence including understanding software, hardware, networks, etc.
- Must read, write and speak fluent English.
- US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
- Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Desired Qualifications - A self-starter and proficient designer/checker, with experience in mechanical, electrical, structural, and controls systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities to meet deadlines for long-and short-term objectives.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite programs.
- Proficient in the use of a variety of general office equipment and skilled at typing at a speed necessary for successful job performance.
- Knowledge of communication principles and practices.
- Knowledge of principles of business letter writing and report preparation.
- Knowledge of correct English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Knowledge of basic business arithmetic.
- Travel might be required as needed.
- Overtime might be required as needed.
